Porter Gaud’s new Upper School building serves as the “front door” of the campus and consists of 24 classrooms, administrative and office space, and a media center. Located adjacent to the existing Senior parking lot, the Upper School defines a new courtyard area between the Science and Technology Building, Wendell Center and the carpool lane.

We have worked with Trident Construction since the very beginning, including the beautiful up-fit to our offices. The folks at Trident are a professional group and a pleasure to work with.
Building quality schools that are points of pride for our communities requires the lowcountry’s best general contractors. The district is so thankful that Trident Construction has built the first LEED Certified school in South Carolina, North Charleston Elementary School, and Daniel Jenkins Academy for our students. We look forward to Trident Construction participating in our next building program.
Trident Construction exceeded all of my expectations from preconstruction, design and planning throughout the 12 month construction process, and even today, I still call on them to help and advise me. The Trident team is the absolute best in the business!
We’ve come to think of Trident as part of CSU’s extended family and friends and we look forward to many more years of working with them.
Charleston Day School’s experience with Trident Construction has been simply extraordinary. The professionalism and commitment of the Trident Team is continually evident. Trident promotes a ‘team build’ concept, and they completely stand behind their promotion. Each of us at Charleston Day has been impressed with every facet of Trident’s planning, work and follow through. Trident is an exceptional company, and I recommend them highly.
